Privacy Policy — Modern Fix

Modern Fix is a home-maintenance services app in the UAE. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it. It covers both the customer app Modern Fix and the technician app Modern Fix Technician.

Data We Collect

• Phone number — to create your account and sign in via a one-time code (OTP).
• Name — for your profile and to provide the service.
• Address — to deliver the service at your location.
• Precise location (GPS) — to identify your current location for the order.
• Email address (optional) — may be requested when paying by card, for the receipt.
• Photos — that you upload to describe your service request.
• Device identifiers — to send you notifications about your orders.

Modern Fix Technician App — Background Location Collection

Modern Fix Technician is a separate app used only by technicians contracted with us, not by customers.

This app collects location data, and continues to collect it even when the app is closed or not in use (background location collection).

• Purpose: to deliver nearby maintenance jobs to the technician, to show the customer the technician's location while travelling to the job, and to estimate the time of arrival.
• Explicit consent: collection begins only after the technician personally grants the "Allow all the time" permission from the in-app location permission screen, and it can be revoked at any time from the device settings.
• What we do not do: we do not sell or share location data for advertising or marketing purposes, and it is not used for any purpose other than operating the service.
• Retention: location data is retained only as long as needed to fulfil the job and for support and dispute resolution; a technician may request deletion of their account and data.

How We Use Your Data

To provide and manage the service, manage your account, send notifications, and process payments. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

Sharing With Third Parties

We do not sell or share your personal data for marketing. We use trusted service providers who process data only to perform their functions:

• Stripe — card payment processing (card data is handled by Stripe; we do not store it).
• Google Maps — location and maps.
• Google Firebase — push notifications.

Data Retention & Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and data from within the app or by contacting us.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 18.
